Vågat is a competition proposal for a temporary entrance portal to Ivar Tengbom's Stockholm Concert Hall.

The portal mediates between the pattern of the piazza and the colonnade of the Concert Hall. Its geometry contains the same basic elements as the waves on the floor of the square: a quarter circle inscribed in a square, tilted 45 degrees.

Thin sheets of steel are cut with great precision and by bending and joining the planar parts, a strong structure is achieved. A tension is created between the paper-like thinness of the laquered steel plates and the perceived massiveness of the convex forms.
